
For fifty years, the East-West Center (EWC) has served the United States and Asia Pacific region through cooperative education, research and dialogue. Student fellows participate in educational and research activities while residing at the East-West Center and simultaneously pursue degree study at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa.
GRADUATE DEGREE FELLOWSHIPS

Type of study: Master's (up to 24-month fellowship) or Doctoral degree (up to 48-month fellowship)
Eligibility: Citizens or permanent residents of the United States and citizens of countries in the Pacific and Asia, including Russia

Eligibility: Citizens of ADB's developing member countries

GRADUATE NON-DEGREE FELLOWSHIPS

Type of study: A five or nine-month course of study; includes seminars, field studies and internships
Eligibility: Early- to mid-career professionals; currently enrolled graduate students; and recent university graduates from all countries

OPPORTUNITIES FOR EWC AFFILIATION

Type of study: An opportunity for graduate students to formally affiliate with the East-West Center while working on research for a thesis or dissertation
Eligibility: Graduate students from universities world-wide
Application deadline: Received year-round

Type of study: An opportunity for students pursuing a graduate degree at the University of Hawai‘i to formally affiliate with the Center in order to participate in its educational and cultural programs and reside at the Center
Eligibility: Full-time graduate student status at the University of Hawai‘i; Open to students from all countries
Provisions: Discounted housing rate in EWC residence halls; Eligible for competitive EWC field research funding and conference presentation scholarships

UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

Type of Study: Bachelor's degree study
Eligibility: Citizens of Timor-Leste

Type of study: Fellowships support temporary academic positions at safe universities and colleges anywhere in the world.
Eligibility: Qualifying applicants are academics currently facing or have recently fled from direct and immediate threats in their home countries.
